Submission Guidelines
Submit a Proposal
Share a brief summary or concept pitch outlining the main points and focus of your article. IFMA will respond to all submissions within 10 business days. Proposals are accepted year-round. Please keep in mind that the editorial calendar is typically scheduled for several months in advance.
Post Submission
Once your proposal is accepted, please draft your blog post. We will include the submission form in your acceptance email. Please include any appropriate art with your post.
Blog Post Guidelines
All blog posts must be original, bylined work that has not been published elsewhere. Posts generated primarily by artificial intelligence (AI) or containing promotional/advertorial content will not be accepted.
Focus and Audience
- Content should address the facility management profession and provide actionable insights or best practices.
- Our readership is global, so avoid region-specific or U.S.-centric perspectives.
- Aim for education and thought leadership, not product promotion.
Tone and Style
- Maintain a professional yet conversational tone.
- Use clear, accessible language (avoid heavy jargon or acronyms without explanation).
- Include hyperlinks to credible external sources or relevant IFMA resources where appropriate.
- IFMA reserves the right to edit content for clarity, length, tone and adherence to style standards.
Format and Length
- File type: Microsoft Word (.docx)
- Length: 500–1,000 words
- Style: AP Style (IFMA’s editorial team will make final adjustments as needed)
- Headlines: IFMA reserves the right to edit or select final headlines.
Blog Artwork
You are encouraged to include unbranded images or artwork that would complement the piece such as high-quality photographs or original infographics.Specifications:

Images must be submitted in color and free of logos and any other branding.

Only high-resolution (300 dpi) PNG or JPG image files will be accepted.

Please do not submit images within the word document, as this reduces image quality.
Acceptable visuals include:
- Original photographs (with usage rights)
- Infographics created by the author or with permission
- Charts or diagrams that illustrate key points
Note: By submitting images, you confirm that you hold the rights to use and share them for publication.
Author Biography
Articles must be submitted with a brief (two to six sentences) biography of each author.Publication
Post frequency is at IFMA’s discretion based on content calendar and editorial priorities. By submitting your post, you grant IFMA the right to edit, publish and distribute your content (in full or in part) across IFMA’s digital platforms, including websites, newsletters and social media channels. We will notify you when your blog is live and provide a link. We encourage you to share a link to your post on social media and within your professional networks.
Content Removal Disclaimer
IFMA reserves the right to remove, unpublish or reject any blog post or content submission at its discretion. Reasons for removal or rejection may include, but are not limited to:

Confirmed or suspected plagiarism, copyright infringement or duplicate publication.

Content that is offensive, false or provides misleading information.

Material that disparages or targets IFMA partners, implies IFMA endorsement, or otherwise conflicts with IFMA’s policies, mission or vision.
Posts that appear in identical or substantially similar form on another website, platform or publication may also be taken down to maintain originality and uphold ethical publishing standards.
