BIO

Bringing together more than 20 years of experience across facility management, engineering, energy management and asset performance, FADI ALSHAKHSHIR is helping shape more intelligent, sustainable and data-driven approaches to FM. As Executive Director of Facility Management at Dubai Holding Entertainment, he leads FM across a diverse portfolio of major entertainment, leisure and destination assets in Dubai. His career includes senior leadership roles with Emaar Properties and DAMAC Properties, spanning complex real estate portfolios, mixed-use developments, malls, hospitality, communities, theme parks and attractions.

Fadi’s work focuses on FM strategy and transformation, asset lifecycle management, energy efficiency, sustainability, digital transformation and AI-enabled maintenance. He created the Energy-Centered Maintenance (ECM) methodology to connect traditional maintenance practices with energy and operational performance. His research and writing on ECM has evolved through three publications, exploring the role of data analytics, IoT, machine learning, artificial intelligence and predictive maintenance in improving asset performance and energy efficiency.

Beyond his executive leadership, Fadi contributes to the profession through academia, research and industry knowledge sharing. He is a lecturer in the MSc Energy program at Heriot-Watt University Dubai and serves on the university’s International Industry Advisory Board. He is also a keynote speaker, author and researcher, sharing insights through conferences, workshops, publications, panel discussions and podcasts. His contributions have earned recognition including a place among the Middle East’s 50 Most Influential Facilities Management Professionals, the Visionary FM Leader Award and recognition as an Energy Efficiency Leader.

He also published three book editions about Energy Centered Maintenance, which explains how ECM evolved from a manual process to a data-driven process, and recently to AI-driven processes. Dedicated to pioneering the future of facility management, he continues to bridge the gap between traditional operational excellence and cutting-edge digital transformation, driving sustainable, high-impact growth across the sector.

Fadi holds an MSc in Energy from Heriot-Watt University and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology, and is pursuing his PhD at Heriot-Watt University. Supported by professional certifications in energy management, sustainability, reliability, quality and asset performance, he brings technical depth and strategic perspective to his work. Across leadership, research and education, Fadi remains focused on advancing FM through smarter maintenance, stronger asset performance and more sustainable operations.
